"Dear friends, dear entrepreneurs, dear investors, and partners,
As we embark on a new year, we would like to wish you all the very best for 2025. May this year bring success and fulfilled ambitions for all of you!
For I&P, 2024 was a year of major achievements in financing programs. We successfully completed two significant acceleration programs, providing funding for 100 small businesses in the Sahel region and 30 entrepreneurs in the education sector. The past year was also marked by remarkable exits from our equity investments. Among them, let’s note the exit of Enko Education by the the fund IPAE, as well as the exits of Lafricamobile and CAIF in Senegal, managed by our partner Teranga Capital.
We have also completed the identification of the 20 emerging African investment funds supported by the Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund, 18 of which have already received a funding. This milestone marks the end of our involvement in this project. We wish success to these 20 brilliant investment teams, as well as to the consortium that will continue to implement the project: MEDA, ESP, Criterion and Genesis!
The challenges that drive us—the very challenges that led to the creation of I&P—remain numerous. We operate in a global environment marked by uncertainty, new barriers restricting the movement of people and ideas, and a troubling reconsideration of development financing, as evidenced by the recent decision of the U.S. administration.. More than ever, we affirm our commitment to an open and solution-oriented future.
2025 will mark the beginning of a new cycle and the start of several major projects for I&P, led by a unique network of 150 investment and impact professionals. Our work now revolves around three key pillars: financing and supporting entrepreneurs, empowering investment teams, and strengthening African entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We are launching two new acceleration programs: CATAL1.5°T, dedicated to companies with a positive climate impact, and I&P Accélération FARM, targeting players in the agri-food industry.
Existing projects enter a new phase. We are embarking on a new phase of growth for I&P Développement, which will help us support 5 to 7 partner teams in as many new countries. We will also be launching I&P Afrique Entrepreneurs 3, to continue financing champions of entrepreneurship in Africa.
I&P is proud to take on the management of FASA, a fund of funds that will catalyze the fundraising of a dozen African investment funds with a strong agribusiness component.
As we diversify our approaches, our mission remains the same: working alongside a new generation of African investors to fund, support, and promoting the entrepreneurs who are transforming Africa. The world needs them now more than ever!
