Investisseurs & Partenaires participates to the annual conference organized by the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) from September 25 to 27.
Olivier Lafourcade, I&P’s advisor and Chairman of the fund I&P Développement, participates to a panel called “Lessons learned from investing in African SGBs”. The session hosts pioneer and recent impact investors to discuss challenges around investing in African small businesses and exchange ideas on how to overcome challenges and improve impact investing practices in Africa.
Lessons from an impact investor: I&P's new document
15 years after its creation, Investisseurs & Partenaires publishes a short document reflecting on the successes, drawbacks and key lessons learned from its first impact fund: Investisseur & Partenaire pour le Développement (IPDEV).
In the past 15 years, more than 30 investments and 20 exits in 10 different countries have been effected; IPDEV has met with many successes and some setbacks in a rapidly evolving African context, while contributing to an entrepreneurial revolution occurring on the Continent. With this document, entitled “IPDEV, a pioneering initiative to promote African SMEs”, I&P shares this unique experience and reflects on 15 key lessons that could prove useful to impact investors willing to support African small businesses.
About ANDE
The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets. ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs will create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits. Ultimately, we believe that SGBs can help lift countries out of poverty.
