Paris, September 28, 2016: In their last book*, published by Odile Jacob, Jean-Michel Severino and Jérémy Hajdenberg demonstrate how the economic growth and the development of the African continent is building upon a booming private sector, and most specifically upon emerging startups and small growing businesses.
I&P Développement 1 (IPDEV1), Investisseurs & Partenaires’ historical fund launched in 2002 by Patrice Hoppenot, realized two new exits in Mauritania and in Senegal.
In it ten years of operation, IPDEV1 has invested 11 million euros in 33 startups and small businesses based in Sub-Saharan Arica. With these new exits, the fund records close to twenty exits and demonstrates the viability of I&P impact investment model.
The 22 and 23 September is held in Paris “Les Rencontres Africa 2016”to promote a new energy to economic cooperation between France and Africa. The meeting is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Foundation Africa France and Export Group Class.

The fund I&P Afrique Entrepreneurs (IPAE), which entered its last year of investment, welcomes three new companies in its portfolio. Operating in various sectors (agri-business, education and audiovisual), these SMEs share a common pan-African vision and development strategy.
